Training Attire

Purchasing traditional training attire is not a requirement for training, but most students seem to enjoy wearing the traditional gi for training. It is loose fitting and comfortable for movement.

The traditional attire worn in Ki and Ki-Aikido training is often called a "Judo Gi". We recommend a single-weave Judo gi made of 100% unbleached cotton. A gi set includes three parts: A jacket, draw-string pants and a white belt.

We can show you how to wear your gi and tie your belt when you bring it to the dojo. It is also important to fold your gi properly between classes. We will teach you that as well.

What Size Do I Need?
Below is a size chart that can help you determine your size. A gi is 100% cotton and will shrink quite a bit when it is first washed and dried. When you first purchase your size it will seem much too large. Note: Do not wash your belt.

Ordering a Gi
We have a wholesale account with a local martial arts supply company and can order a gi for you. Our prices are substanially below retail, usually about 30% lower. Our prices vary by size, ranging from $40.00 to $55.00. Speak to an instructor if you wish to order a gi.

The marketplace includes a number of vendors that sell uniforms. We suggest selecting a vendor that provides free shipping.
